70 Miles on the Colorado Trail

70 miles was our total for this summer on the Colorado Trail.  Of the 500 miles of CT between Denver and Durango, Shannon and I have now traversed all but about 50 miles over the years.

These past four segments (#14-17) were only made possible with the kind assistance of my dear daughter Amelia, and a four hour shuttle provided by my old motocross buddy John Glass and his gracious wife Barbara.  We've been friends since the 70s and had a great visit with them and their daughters Sarah and Merilee in Monte Vista.  Good times.

Here's a really cool video of two brothers thru-hiking the CT a few years back:

Watching this, I can recall vividly almost every section they cross.  Shannon and I are home now, warm and comfy in our own bed, and thankful as always for each other's adventurous spirit.  Love you, Shannon!

Winter Escapades 2017

Sunset at Myaaka River State Park, FL
We spent a lot of time of Florida again this winter, visiting friends and family and camping in the great Florida State Parks too.  And we took some cruises.

St Thomas was one of our many ports of call.

St Lucia was another.

And San Juan, PR was an added unscheduled stop when high winds off the Atlantic prevented us from visiting Antigua.
